Terms & Conditions

Please read these terms carefully before using ExpiryAlarm. They set out the agreement between you and us.

Last updated: 4 August 2026

In short: ExpiryAlarm is a free reminder tool provided as-is. It's a helper, not a guarantee — always rely on your own judgement for anything safety- or health-related, such as medication or food.

1. Acceptance of terms

By downloading, installing, or using the ExpiryAlarm application ("the app"), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the app.

2. Licence to use

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use ExpiryAlarm on devices you own or control, for your personal or internal business use. You may not sell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute the app.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

4. Your data and content

ExpiryAlarm stores the items, dates, and content you add locally on your device. You are solely responsible for the accuracy of the information you enter and for maintaining your own backups. As described in our Privacy Policy, we do not collect or store your data, and therefore cannot recover it for you if it is lost, deleted, or if your device fails.

5. Reminders are provided "as-is"

ExpiryAlarm is a convenience tool that helps you remember expiry dates. Reminders and alarms depend on your device's operating system, power settings, permissions, and notification behaviour, which are outside our control. We do not guarantee that any reminder or alarm will be delivered on time, or at all.

Important: Do not rely on ExpiryAlarm alone for decisions affecting health, safety, or finances — including consuming food or taking medication. Always check the actual product, label, or document and use your own judgement.

6. Third-party data

The optional barcode-scanning feature retrieves product information from the third-party Open Food Facts service. This information is community-contributed and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unavailable. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party data.

7. Intellectual property

The ExpiryAlarm name, logo, design, and software are owned by us and protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks or branding.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

The app is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, spoilage, expired products, missed deadlines, or other losses arising from your use of, or inability to use, the app — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

10. Changes to the app and terms

We may update, modify, or discontinue the app or these Terms at any time. When we revise these Terms, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the app publisher operates, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of that jurisdiction.
